In this article we present a maternity photographic book outdoors in Italy – Bologna, a very refined couple in an elegant location. This photo shoot was to complement the pregnancy photo shoot we did in our studio.
It was a warm autumn day, but with just a little sun. Shooting on a cloudy day gives you the advantage of taking pictures in natural light and there are no strong shadows.
The long white dress that highlights the belly is also very elegant.
How to dress for an outdoor maternity photo book
- choose a dress that accentuates your baby bump and reflects your personality
- simple plain colors or striped that shapes your body
- You can also wear a front opening shirt and unbutton the shirt around your baby bump
- wear comfortable shoes so the photo shoot does not become tiring
- avoid wearing clothes with too many colors, floral prints or checks
- avoid wearing heavy jewelry
- assorted clothes for other people participating (husband and children)
Where to make the maternity photo book outdoors?
We choose the location together and it depends a lot on what do you want:
- an urban landscape, like in this article
- a park or a garden
- a flowery field
- a beach
- or any other place that represents you
When to take the maternity photo shooting?
You would like your belly to be nice and big, but not so big that you struggle to stay in certain positions for a period of time. We recommend taking pictures when you’re around 30 weeks pregnant, when the belly is round but not heavy yet.
